1985 MONTE CARLO SS - LT1/4L60E

Here is my 85 Monte Carlo SS.  It has an LT1 from a 94 Caprice 9C1, behind that is a 4L60E and in the rear is an 8.5" GN 3.42 posi.  It has steel Corvette Rally Rims 235/60r15 BFG's in the front and 245/60r15 BFG's in the rear.

The engine has been updated with Corvette Aluminum heads, mild cam, 52mm throttle body (which is upgraded by TPIS), Crane 6H-Is, underdrive pulley and a K&N filter.  The previous owner said it is pushing about 300hp right now.  It has ALL the Grand Prix braces plus the 36mm hollow swaybar from a GTA, rear brace, rear seat brace, new body mounts and polyurethane all around with KYB's.  A/C is hooked up and awaiting a recharge.  It has a dual fan setup from a 5.7L Z-28 (those F-Bodies are good for parts right Matt!)  My friends say that the hoses look like they are cut from a garden hose!!  Some front suspension and rim cleaning pics.

The interior remains largely stock, except for the B&M shifter, a lighted rearview mirror from a GTA and a JVC removeable face cassette with a 12pack CD changer in the trunk. I have plans to add electric windows and doorlocks.  The interior as well as the chassis and underneath are all POR-15'd by the previous owner.

So far, this car has been taken to the track for only two runs with the street tires, crane box not hooked up and breaking traction has run a consistent 14.1 sec at 95mph in the quarter mile.

I'm contemplating on putting these rims and tires on the car.  They are 80 Vette Slots and the tires are 235/60r15 B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A's.  I also have the spinners for them, but they are too large and I have to wait until the next Englishtown swap meet.

Well i did it! The rims are now on my car.  This is how looks as of 1/04/2003.  Gotta polish those rims!!!
